Columbus Isle Bahamas

Very fun and active stay at Columbus Isle. We were very pleased with the workouts offered ( spinning, pilates, muscular etc....). Thank you again Naomi for being an exceptional teacher!

For all the other sports, ( volleyball, bocce ball, pool games etc...) I would like to thank all the other G.O's! It really made our experience even better.

Columbus Isle is that perfect combination of great beach, good food, easy atmosphere, and reasonable price. We've been many times, and will continue to come back.

There are only two issues: the electricity on the island isn't reliable and so we had a three nights our of 14 without AC because the island electricity wasn't working. Club Med has a generator but it's not enough for the kitchens, common areas and AC in the rooms. The resort needs to install a bigger generator, install solar panels, or figure out some way to fix this.

It's also time to refurbish the bathrooms. Nothing has been done for at least 15 years since we started going. The grout in the bathrooms is getting mildewy in spots which could at least be cleaned.

All that said, i love the ambience, the magnificent beach with the crystal clear, calm water, and the French vibe. You don't get more for your money anywhere. With the influx of mexican staff, i've noticed an increase in mexican food but there is still plenty of other offerings that are great. I like the easy-going way meals are done with the ability to get whatever you want yourself - be it food or wine. Over the years, the fanciness factor has declined (ice sculptures and whole tuna that would be carved have gone away), but the food is still quite good and the individual chefs at each station take pride in their work. It is always an extremely pleasant and easy trip. There's not a lot to do but there's enough - particularly if you are a beach and water person.

Happy with the service and food. Beach & water were great, but needed more shade on the beach area. Umbrellas were limited. Rooms were clean even though a bit outdated. Overall a nice place to vacation. Plane was delayed 6 hours and Club Med staff came back to the airport to shuttle us back to the resort so we could eat. We were all very appreciative for them to do that.

Great time at Club Med Columbus Isle. The ocean is spectacular and the sandy beach is beautiful (just be aware of the no-see-ums, tiny bugs that bite). The food was very nice and the views at the Pinta restaurant are gorgeous.

We especially enjoyed the exercise classes every day with Narumi — excellent strength and circuit workouts, and she has such a calm and positive personality.

The staff overall were fine, but some could be friendlier to guests. In particular, at the towel distribution area, a couple of the ladies were downright rude when asking for a towel without a wet one to replace or without a towel ticket. Also, one of the ladies at the morning egg station was very unfriendly.

Unfortunately, it sets a bad tone for the day.

GOs were extremely friendly and really work at over 100%;- setting a great experience for guests!

Columbus Isle was amazing. The beach spot was so beautiful, with clear, turquoise water. We enjoyed all of the water sports, and the food exceeded our expectations. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The sunsets were incredible!
