Great Spring Break
Everything was great. The kids club is excellent. We enjoyed the food at taco Arte.

10/10 family vacation
Incredible family vacation. One of our best nights was at Taco Arte. Server Jose was so lovely and the Mayan Beef was the absolute stand out dish in a week of exceptional food. Our kids are already planning for when we return. Not if, when. If you go, be sure to attend aquagym with Obed and ask for a passion fruit margarita at the bar.

Great family trip
Great family resort! Really a 4.5 if TripAdvisor would let me do it. This was our first visit to a Club Med with our 8 & 10 year olds. A pretty easy experience overall.
Room- We stayed in the Aquamarine complex and the room setup was perfect for us. It was a large suite where the kids had their own space with beds and bathroom. There is a door between that space and the adult space which had a king bed and its own bathroom. Our room overlooked the ocean with a large chair. Great setup!
Food- overall pretty good for an all inclusive. There are several buffet locations which were quite good. One in the main area, and Taco Arte which is covered by outdoors. For dinner you could reserve a spot at Taco Arte, steak place, or the La Bodega. Taco place wasnt all that great for dinner. Steak place was good! We didn't do Bodega for dinner but did do a mezcal tasting. Breakfast and lunch buffets were solid, although they did run out of things at times (need more bacon!). Note for the reservations do this early and often. You can book 36 hrs (and sometimes more?) in the app.
Kids club- Really good experience. You drop kids off by 9a and they have a set sked of activities the entire day until 530. They can go back for dinner and later activities as well. Kids did circus activities, archery, water park, pickleball and other things. There are two types of wrist bands. One where your kids have to be signed out by you. The other there they can come and go as they please. Good contained freedom for our kids. Both made good buddies that they hung out with.
Activities- A wide variety of activities for adults and kids. Kayak, paddleboarding, and sailing area was good. Altho kids have to be 10 to do it even with a parent (bummer for our 8 yr old). Gym is solid, and the workout activities are mostly good. Yoga well done. Pilates more of a miss. We didn't do any excursions. Both the wife and I did trapeze (super cool). Pools are good. Kids pool which is what you would expect. The main pool is about to get replaced with a new pool. Night time activities thrown by the staff were cheesy but fun! Spa is solid and the steam room was great. Book spa activities as soon as you get there!
Overall
Great spot for families and we will go back (maybe Punta Cana next time). Our first impression was a little worrisome as we just saw all of the kid activities due to where we were staying. But once we explored and settled in it was way better. Our kids enjoyed the kids club which gave us the time to have our own adult time! Great room setup and just overall easy trip. Worth it!

Club Med Cancún
Located at the tip of the iconic Riviera Maya, the newly redesigned Club Med Cancún Yucatán is waiting to be discovered. Our magnificent resort offers an array of experiences and activities and direct access to ancient Mayan wonders.
The Club Med Cancún Yucatán all-inclusive resort sits right next to three sandy beaches, along the world’s second-largest coral reef. It’s the place to be if you want to explore, unwind, and immerse yourself in the culture and adventure of Mexico.

A Bit About Cancún
A city in southeast Mexico on the northeast coast of the Yucatán Peninsula, Cancún is one of the most significant tourist destinations in Mexico. As one of Mexico’s easternmost points, the city is on the Caribbean Sea.
One thing to know about Cancún is that it’s a planned city, and it was created to foster tourism. Back in the 1970s when the area development first started, Isla Cancún only had three residents. All of them were caretakers of the coconut plantation of Don José de Jesús Lima Gutiérrez.
Since then, Cancún has seen a major transformation and it’s now one of the two most well-known resorts in Mexico, next to Acapulco.
The official language in Cancún is Spanish, although many people speak English as it’s a big tourist destination.
Since Cancún boasts a wonderfully long coastline, preserving it is in everyone’s interest. When packing, make sure to only take reef-safe sunblock with you.

Cancun climate and cuisine
Cancún, Mexico has a tropical climate, or more specifically a tropical wet and dry climate. That means that the city is hot pretty much all year round. Also, the annual mean temperature is 27.1 °C.
Unlike inland areas of the Yucatán Peninsula, sea breeze restricts high temperatures from reaching 36 °C on most days. Not only that but thanks to Yucatán’s current continually bringing warm water from the south, the sea temperature is always warm. In the winter, the lows are typically around 26 °C, while in the summer highs are around 29 °C.
The rainy season lasts from May to late October. That’s when Cancún experiences high temperatures and humidity, along with intense summer thundershowers. The dry season runs from December through April.
Culture and Customs
Given Cancún’s popularity with younger crowds and college-age travellers, the city typically has a more casual dress code. Cancún’s nighttime establishments, like bars and clubs, often welcome a more relaxed atmosphere and appearance.
Cancun cuisine
When you book your Cancún holiday with Club Med, you’ll receive full-board gourmet cuisine included in your stay. However, if you want to branch out within the city, you’re sure to discover plenty of restaurants worth sampling.
Cancún has almost as many restaurants as hotels, so you should have no trouble finding something to your taste. One of the reasons for that is that the cuisine of Mexico is regarded as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of Unesco.
For a taste of true, authentic Mexican cuisine, the cochinita pibil is one of the most famous dishes from the Yucatán cookbook. The combination of ancient Mayan spices, combined with pork marinated in achiote and sour orange, is simply addictive. That said, if you want more variety, you’ll easily find it in any number of international restaurants.

A Day Trip to Chichen Itza
Cancún is an incredibly thrilling and exciting destination with activities, excursions, and attractions galore.
A well-known archeological site and the 7th wonder of the world, Chichen Itza welcomes more than 2.5 million tourists each year. The sacred site was one of the greatest Mayan centres in the entire Yucatán peninsula. Throughout its nearly 1,000-year history, Chichen Itza represents a fusion of many different people. It’s open to tourists from Monday to Sunday, from 8 AM to 4 PM.
If you want to visit this magnificent site, you can do so through Club Med. A guide will travel with you, helping you navigate the wondrous attraction, and after (an included) lunch, you can swim in an open cenote and visit the colonial city of Valladolid.
Discover Coba
Another stunning site of Mayan culture that shouldn’t be missed is Coba. Located in the eastern part of the Yucatán Peninsula, it’s one of the few sites to retain its Mayan name; it translates to ruffled/uneven water.
The settlement dates to the Preclassic, which was around 350 BC – 250 CE. Coba contains many free-standing carved stone slabs, as well as many white stone roads that extend within and outside of the site.
To visit Coba and explore the Nohoch Mul pyramid, you can book an excursion with Club Med Cancún. After lunch, you can refresh yourself in a spectacular cenote on the Yucatán peninsula.

Tulum and Cenote
Tulum was the last great city the Mayans constructed and inhabited between the 13th and 15th centuries. It was a site of worship to the Great Descending God whose image you can still see within the temple walls.
Nowadays, numerous ancient structures remain, spread out over groomed lawns and oceanside cliffs. The Tulum ruins are open seven days a week from 8 AM to 5 PM, and they get around 2,000 visitors each day.
With Club Med, you can discover all that this wonderful city has to offer and explore the underground geological formation while swimming in the crystal-clear waters of a cavern.

The Ancient Kingdom of Ek’Balam
Ek’Balam is a Yucatec-Maya archeological site and it lies on the Northern Maya lowlands, 25 km north of Valladolid. It was a seat of a Mayan kingdom from the Preclassic until the Postclassic period.
As part of Ek’Balam, there are 45 structures, which include walls, a chapel, an oval palace, ballcourt, steam bath, and more. With Club Med, you can book an exciting excursion to the ancient kingdom, followed by a swim in a natural freshwater pool or cenote.
