What is The Ubud Monkey Forest?
Located in the heart of Ubud, the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary spans more than 30 acres and is home to over 600 Balinese long-tailed macaques. The sanctuary also contains three significant Hindu temples: Pura Dalem Agung, Pura Beji, and Pura Prajapati. Visitors will also find more than 115 tree species, including sacred banyan trees that play an important role in local rituals.
In addition to being a popular attraction, the Monkey Forest Ubud is a conservation and research centre dedicated to studying monkey behaviour and forest preservation.
